Echos, Silence, Patience and Graze

Last week one of the guys in work was going on about this site he'd joined, www.graze.com. It's a healthy eating site where you basically sign up, choose the stuff you like, hate or wouldn't mind trying and they send you out a box with a variety of the things you've selected. It sounded kinda interested and he gave me a voucher to get the first box free so I signed up for one box to be delivered every Monday and got my first one today.

The box had a portion of hazelnuts, wasabi peanut crackers, roasted pistachios and a mix called Bear Neccessities which is dried apricot, dried strawberries and macadamia nuts. The hazelnuts were a bit too dry and bland for my taste and I didn't like the apricot in the mix but the dried strawberries were nice. It's weird because I don't like normal strawberries but the dried ones just tasted like gummies made of jam. The macadamias were nice as well especially seeing as the strawberry flavour had rubbed off on them. It's quite fun going back onto the site and 'binning' the items you don't want again. I'm saving the wasabi peanut crackers and pistachios for tomorrow.

So overall it was a nice change from snacking on chocolate and crisps from the vending machines during the day and it's also pretty handy because nuts and seeds are good source of slow-releasing energy throughout the day. I was going to see how it goes with the free box and if it wasn't for me then I was just going to cancel it but I get the next box for half price then it's like £2.99 afterwards. That seems a lot but I sometimes buy bags of nuts and stuff from the Healthy Ideas range they have in our canteen and they're like £2 for one small bag as it is. I think I'm probably going to just cancel my union membership and spend the £13 a month on these instead as at the very least it means I get a little present to get excited about every Monday and if I don't look at what they're sending me in advance I get a surprise as well. :D

Anyway, if anyone else is curious and wants to try it for free then they gave me a code to forward on to people so when you're signing up enter in MCC42VNN and you'll get your first box for free and the second half price as well as your own codes to give to people. It's especially worth while if you work in a call centre/office all week like me and you need something to brighten things up a little bit.

On a completely un-related note. The Dollhouse finale was actually way better than I was expecting although that might be down to my post-apocolyptic kick at the moment. The 12th ep was clearly a total rushjob and it just ended up being ridiculous because of it but Epitaph 2 flowed pretty nicely and I'm glad they tied up some loose ends (especially the Alpha thing if it was a bit of an easy way out). I'm not ashamed to say I welled up during certain Topher-related scenes but over-all I'm pretty satisfied with the conclusion. It's not in the same league as Avatar by a long shot but it was pretty good all the same.

Speaking of Avatar. I saw this ad in work today
