I've been really slow to turn on my computer lately, i'm totally loving knitting. I really look forward to getting home from work, eating dinner and then going knitting. If your curious feel free to wander over to Ravelry and have a look at my projects (you'll need to be a member though):
http://www.ravelry.com/projects/AskeaI've knit three hats, a yoga mat bag, mittens, fingerless gloves, a scarf and i've just started a string top.
Reading knitting patterns is like deciphering a code, you need to know what the code words mean first of all and then you need to know what to do with the wool. I'm quite enjoying the deciphering part, I spent about two hours working out the pattern of my string top this morning. It was great to use my brain again.
Work is going well, yesterday was my last day of the year, it was wonderful to still have work this late in the year, totally unexpected and totally welcomed. I had a great day on Wednesday in the mountains. It was cold and snowing. During the day we were walking in snow that was half a foot deep and at times it was knee deep. Once I stepped into a snow drift that was half way up my thighs. It was amazing. We were walking along one ridge and the wind was very strong and it was whipping snow onto our backs thankfully. I don't think it would have been so pleasant walking straight into it.
Apart from the day of snow the weather has been simply miserable for what seems the last month. It's been so bad I had a dream last night that I saw a little batch of blue skies and everyone was amazed, it was almost like seeing an solar eclipse... We did have a white drive way during the week for about 24 hours and that was quite nice except that it was a really wet whiteness.
