Writing, and other stuff

Good Lord, I'm wordy. Any self-respecting editor would flay me alive for that last paragraph.

Anyway.

The Oxford application is IN. No more tweaking allowed. I am at least 50% satisfied with the essay I wrote, which is about as good as it's going to get. My references are also in, or should be, and now all I can do is wait for my interview in a week and a half. And then wait some more. I turned it in fifteen minutes before the deadline yesterday afternoon (so much for being on top of things) and then went downstairs for some juice, only to find an unopened, abandoned bottle of precisely the right flavor sitting next to the vending machine. Coincidence? Maybe, but I choose to interpret this as a good omen from on high. Also, free cranraspberry juice. There is no bad here.

My summer math program application is also in, two days later than it should have been, but in anyway because my academic advisor is the nicest man in the world. I threw that one together in about an hour, so I won't be surprised if I don't get it, but I think I've got a decent chance, and I hope it works out.

Also, I received two compliments on my classwork this week from my wonderful, intimidatingly smart English professor. (At least, I'm pretty sure they were compliments.)

I took a nice walk down to the Clark Art Museum this afternoon. It was so nice out that I decided not to be depressed about the complete lack of winter, and on top of that I got to spend an hour mooning over paintings by Turner and Géricault.

Finally, tomorrow is a school holiday.

Life is good.

ETA: Is "advisor" with an "O" falling out of general use, or is the Livejournal spellchecker just being nasty again?
