CA Knows How to Party

May 30, 2007 16:05

Here are the main highlights from my San Francisco / Los Angeles / Hermosa Beach high school "reunion" trip over Memorial Day weekend (052407-053007), in no particular order:
  • PBR should never cost $8.50. NEVER.
  • SF Giants game and LA Angels game were both fun.
  • We were not allowed into the Standard Bar (made famous from the HBO Show "Entourage") ( Read more... )

First it's ºC/ºF, now km/mi.

In my defense, almost everything in the US is mph, so I made an (incorrect) assumption.

Prince William Pkwy was kilometerposts, but the speed limits are still in mph. :D

Thanks! Hey, got a quick question about digital photo frames - you bought one for your family recently for a cheap price. Where did you buy it from? I'm looking for one for Father's Day.

Hope you had a great weekend!

I got mine from bestbuy, and it was most definitely on sale. But you can get a 7" one for around 125, unless you catch another good sale. I'd stick with at least a decent name brand. I got westinghouse.

I went with a friend who knew the area, so she brought us to a mix of wineries that were cheap/pricey/scenic/etc. I was sad that we didn't go to Coppola, but I wasn't willing to pay $25 just to get in the door!

I did like Frog's Leap and Robert Biale. I recommend those if you have not been to them before.

Have fun in Boston!! I'm jealous.

Sounds like you had a good time.

I agree with you about the Las Vegas airport. I once spent 2 hours trying to find my luggage there. At least you can gamble in the terminals ;)

Man, I was soooo tired by the time I flew into Vegas (left Raleigh at 9:00 PM, arrived in Vegas at 1:00 AM EST), I didn't have the energy to gamble. But, if I did, then I would have had a good time :)

I could not believe how many people were in the Vegas airport at that time. It looked like RDU at rush hour!

Wow, dude. I don't even pay half that much for a PBR in Manhattan.

Yeah, I've bought PBR in Manhattan and it was $1.00/can, though that was over 7 years ago. Even with inflation, I'd guess it'd be $2.00/can max.

Damn snooty LA people.
