Current drug of choice - Prolactin

Wanted to stop by and say hello as well as send a general update on Sarah’s and my progress.  Although we encounter an occasional fussy period at nights, for the most part we’re behaving quite well.  Who’d know that such a small pea could run the entire world around her schedule!  We discuss the color and consistency of her diaper matter with greatest intensity; take copious pictures of each new grimace and then study them endlessly (see attached pictures); attend to a constant inflow of excited relatives and of course, the biggest of all, work our hardest at accommodating the around-the-clock breastfeeding schedule.  Many people have said that the fussy period does not actually start until about a month.  So while all is quite before the storm and I am prepping myself for worst but hope for the best.

One of our bigger concerns has been introducing her to Morphy.  Mind you, he is a 100lb overly friendly dog that has shown signs of obvious jealousy in the past.  He is incredibly curious about the new munchkin and being a hunting dog, wants to get a thorough sniff and lick of the creature - both actions with which I have a problem.  We hissed at him so vigorously yesterday that by the end of the day he isolated himself into the very back of his cage and would not come out even for a treat.  Though I feel bad for him, he is an animal and I cannot risk my girl’s well being.

Overall, despite being tired, the concerns we have right now are sweet and I thoroughly enjoy all part of motherhood so far.  Speaking of which, several people wished me a “Happy Mother’s Day” yesterday and I was taken aback at such an unfamiliar title to me.  I have recuperated well from labor and for the past few days were able to take daily four miles walks.
