10/16/2012~UPDATE: STORY TABLE NOW UP~ (IC+OOC)

Jul 12, 2011 01:19

I know it's been a long wait but, upon request, I've finally organized all the stories, chapters, and extras I've written so far onto one post! Sorry for the wait but things have been busy since school started. I should have a new chapter up for Ari once midterms are over and I tentatively have the first half of case one of M.M. written up, which should be done before December.

Also, my current (and fantastic) beta, Queen K of the Americans, will be stepping down after this next chapter. If anyone is interested doing some beta work, feel free to message me or comment below. More than one beta is okay and would be appreciated!

Until then, I'll see you all next update~

Finding Ari Fletcher

Ari Fletcher: thief, kidnapper, business woman, terrible cook, transporter, confidant, liar, smuggler, danger addict, murderer, pioneer, dealer, cheat, survivor, friend and kidnapper of Queen Eryana II, attempter of regicide, saviour, sky pirate…

This was my great grandmother. These are entries from her surviving journals. I want to find the real Ari Fletcher buried beneath the rumours and stories. What you find from this collection of stories, I don't know, but I trust you to make your own interpretations regarding who she really was based on the facts; what I hope to find is a woman I can be proud to call my ancestor.

Prologue: Dear Great-Grandmother

Entry 1: Gainful Employment

Entry 2: Day at the Races

Entry 3: A skip among the Flowers (Part 1)

Entry 4: A skip among the Flowers (Part 2)

Entry 5: Arrival of the Black Hats

Entry 7: Wishing you were Dead (In-Progress)

Ari Fletcher:
Role of Dauntless: Captain
First Apperarance: Gainful Employment
Quote: "Fame? Love? Money? I don't need any of that - actually, the money part would make my life easier but that's beside the very heart warming point I was about to make and I'm on a tangent so let's strike all that and focus on this: all I need to be happy are the open skies, a good ship, and some company."

Serah Fairbanks:

First Appearance: Gainful Employment
Quote: "Dear heavenly light I'm the only sane woman onboard."

Morgan Shepherd:
Role on Dauntless: Cook/Occasional Muscle

Donald Hacker:
Role on Dauntless: Engineer
First Appearance: Day at the Races
Quote: "Five years ago, I was a bushy eyed lad who wanted to change the world. I've lowered my standards. I'll stick to MY engine room where I can say and do whatever I please."

Bree Copper:
Role on Dauntless: Pilot
First Appearance: Day at the Races
Quote: "I'm from a little island on the lower belts. On my old job, if I wasn't being chased by dogs it was demons. How is this any worse?"

Claire Moriay:

First Appearance: A skip among the Flowers Prt. 1
Quote: "This isn't the first captain I've shot in the back."

((OOC Information on Lynne’s stories: This is more of a section on things that readers of Lynne’s stories would probably know or notice.

-Lynne’s stories have been online for three years now with her Ari series being her most recent and most popular.

-The Exile series started mainly as one-shots that stood on their own, largely unconnected from each other save a reference or character from the previous stories but started as it started dwelving into Lorraine’s past, what the Shadow chasing her was (it was basically one of the Spirits of creation that hated humans, was sealed, but rebellious-teenager!Lorraine accidentally released it), and a conspiracy involving the Guardian class Lorraine was apart of, the series became much more closely knit. The Ari series is following a similar pattern by being episodic but Lynne drops much more hints about what the overall plot is.

-The Exile series ended with Lorraine dying via pulling the Ultimate Sacrifice card.

-The Exile series was very depressing, dark, and characters regularly died or were betrayed. In contrast, the Ari series is the total opposite and is much lighter in terms of character and humour. The Ari series also has depressing and dark stuff but Lynne handles it with more optimism and cheer than she did the previous series.

-It’s mostly unconscious on her part, but Lynne’s stories rarely have romance. If they do, it’s very small or subtle and is lacking in the PDA department. Even in her Ari series, which has established Ari has a descendent and there are hints for Ari/Morgan and Ari/Serah, Lynne stops short of actually going beyond friendships or deep bonds. Lynne’s Valentine’s day special story evem featured Hacker and Bree debating the finer points of Ari/Serah and Ari/Morgan respectively (Lynne actually looked at some fan discussions about the pairings), but Lynne resolved it by having Ari say she shipped herself with the sky. Meanwhile, in the Exile series, Lorraine had a lot of build up, chemistry, and willingness to sacrifice herself for someone named Ashton…and Lynne capped it with an epic friendship hug and speech before she killed Lorraine.

-Another unconscious thing, but a running thing about Lynne’s stories ala Cid in Final Fantasy is that if a character is named Rick/Richard/Dick/Richee/Ricardo/any variant of ‘Rick’, that character is cannon fodder, a traitor, a villain, or a victim. There are no good ‘Rick’s in Lynne’s stories.))
