Edinburgh!!

I'm currently in Edinburgh!  It's beautiful here. I wish I was staying more than two nights. Will definitely be back.

Today we're going to visit the castle and the old town and tonight I'm meeting up with Frances and Kristian who have just moved here. I am very much looking forward to catching up with them.

Mum has now been to the dentist - so that's a relief... no major problems there. Tomorrow we are off to Paris!!  Then mum and I begin our coach trip around western europe - 'The Continental Introduction'. It will be more whirlwind travel - not stopping long in any one place, but I am looking forward to it.

Was getting a bit tired of travelling around in the car. I have loved our driving tour though - it was fantastic to see the British countryside. The last few days we were in Oban (where my great grandfather is from - not great grandmother as I wrote previously - she was from Glasgow). We also visited Port Appin where he was once a blacksmith. Found the 'old smithy' and took some photos and spoke to a lovely woman at the post office who knew the Campbell family and some of their history - very exciting. Also found the house they used to own, known as Sunset House, and found the Airds hotel featured in an old postcard from the archive of letters mum has. Fun!

Oban was a lovely seaside town - "the gateway between highlands and the islands"!   Visited Dunstaffnage Castle and toured about.

I am a little homesick again - really feel like having breakfast at Why or dinner at Wok'n'Roll with friends, or hanging out with Sasha and just watching telly. :)

But at the same time I am also starting to get rather excited about my tour around Europe - Paris here I come!  :)

Not sure if the hotels will have internet access on the trip - I hope so!!!    I'd really love to be able to upload some photos soon, too. None of the internet cafes have the ability to plug in a camera. Annoying.

How's the election campaign going?  Someone email me with a snapshot of the situation. Who wants to be my political correspondent?  :)

Hope you are all well!

Next time I write I will be in Europe! :D
