In a lift from the FIT troubles I got an email from the Long Island Academy of Fine Arts (fancy, no?) saying I won second place in there little contest-thingamawhozit in the Portrait category! Woot! Means a half-scholarship to there Classical Drawing class in April. Not a terribly big deal but still cool. If it's anything like Adelphi, I'm happy.
Secondly, Tom Waits is bringing his Black Rider album to the stage in April! GASP. It must come here!!! Must!!! Stupid Los Angeles...
Thirdly, I need something new to listen to (again), Any ideas?
Fourthly, is the pleasant surprise of a decent Darcy that is not Colin Firth! That's Lost in Austen I'm talking about and, yes, it is worth mentioning. If not because of the absolutely shameless wet!Darcy scene that was funny just because they put it there. Take that Colin Firth!
Fifthly, is Jon Hamm on SNL! Heck yes, Jon Hamm! Who continues to be nothing short of absolutely fabulous. That Scott Brown sketch was gold. And I would TOTALLY eat at Hamm & Buble's. Any day of the week.

PS. After watching Onegin I'm CONVINCED Ralph Fiennes should play Roland in the Dark Tower movie that is inevitably in the works/ I girasoli is one of the saddest and most depressing movies I've ever seen. And it was frakkin' AMAZING. I <3 Marcello Mastroianni
