Yet More Drunken Photoshopping: Voldemort's Commercial Empire, Yo.

Statistical analysis pwned me like a pwning thing yesterday, but at least that's done. Now I have all the time in the world to watch DVDs write pr0n do diligent research on the paper I'm supposed to be writing this month. Yay. Ish. Sigh.

In any case, I ate some blueberry pie and had a glass of this fantabulous Pinot Noir, and this appeared:

*peers* Louis Vuitton has a fragrance? Somehow the thought never occurred to me.

I've always suspected that the initials stood for a certain Dark Lord's name, but that would be doing him entirely too much discredit. Even He would never create so foul a thing. Ohhh, the knockoffs alone are enough to trigger the gag reflex...

It'd be just like Voldything to focus on luxury products. Good thing that I'm not as much of a fan of Vuitton as my mum is. ;)

Oh, you poor thing. Don't let her suck you into it! That way lies madness!

Naturally He'd focus on luxury items. Exclusivity is His specialty.

*cough*

Well, that or death and destruction.

What my mum has for bags, I have for shoes, and there indeed lies madness. Because there is no such thing as too many shoes!

Ayup. Lord Destruction Deluxe, Voldy's new nickname.

Now that's a title that just makes me shiver all over. Lord Destruction Deluxe. Oooo.

You're a shoe person? Oh, really. I never got into it - I'm more of a bag girl - I blame this mostly on Balenciaga, but truth be told, I prefer escorting my precious things on my arm to stomping on them all the time. :) And I still have the audacity to call myself a sadist!

Shoes, ayup (though Balenciaga is one of my favourite designers -- used to have a coat from him that I absolutely, absolutely loved). Prada, especially for everyday shoes and loafers. Perfect narrow shape, so very pretty, and genuine Italian leathercraft. So very good. (Plus the usual Choos and Blahniks I get to wear once a year and regret it the next day, ow.)

I ever need a bag, I can just go and visit my mother's collection. She's at 100+ bags, so there's always going to be something that matches what I'm wearing. ;) Alas, we have different shoe sizes, so sharing there doesn't work. Woe.

Owning of a Ghesquiere coat! Are you serious? Why, I am jealous. I've had such a craving for this year's masterpiece. If only my parents would see the wisdom of buying it for my birthday. Alas and Woe! Honestly, it only costs about half a year's tuition!

I do like Chanel flats, but otherwise I typically don't feel like paying high price for couture shoes. Sometimes it's just not worth it when the regular stuff is just as innovative. Although, after spending some time in the field examining designer things, I've begun to realise that almost everything lower-price is based upon the latest haute fad. It's a depressing realisation because it takes away the illusion of originality. But our culture really is becoming such a mix-and-match of previous styles anyway - from architecture to art to clothing to even computer fonts.

The coat was one of those "omg, I shouldn't buy it but it's so fabulous!" insta-decisions, when I was in Barcelona one year for the sales, and the thing was 60% off. It was a marvellous wool autumn/winter coat that I wore until the lining fell apart. *reminisces* This is the one from this winter's line that I want. Wantwantwant!

But yes, a genuine Ghesquière. He and Helmut Lang are my main men in fashion, though in power suits I prefer either local designers (because I have such long legs that Central-European trousers are always too short) or the usual Armani armours. Such good stuff and I'm a h0r for quality materials.

Sometimes it's just not worth it when the regular stuff is just as innovative.

Very true... sometimes I do think I'm also paying for the shopping experience. I mean, Prada loafers will set me back $300 but for that, I'm getting shoes that I love and that fit, and service at the store that I love. And, oh, the materials! Nothing beats a genuine leather insole.
