Thank you. Once upon a time, in another fandom I was in, there was a girl who daily posted the adventures of her character, Balk Rose.

In a perverse way, I admired that girl. She kept on posting badfic despite the piles of negative feedback she recieved for doing so.

Ahh, Jesus. Who the fuck is called Black Rose, let alone Balk Rose, anyway? I bet she was really speshul.

Do you think actress Fairuza Balk was supposed to be called Fairuza Black but either her parents or herself (if that is her artistic name) can't spell for shit? I wonder...

Well, I admire her too. Perseverance and hard work, that's usually all it takes...Right?

Sometimes I have this urge to write a series of badfics; really, really bad fics, to exorcise any Sue!demons and mostly to laugh. They just seem to have so much fun, these badficcers.

I felt bad for her. So I e-mailed her to suggest that she give her story a read-thru before posting. I told her that misspelling her own character's name made it seem like she didn't care that much about the story. And if she didn't care to get it right, then why should we care to read it.

Her response? A five page opus entitled: Balk Rose, Dark Knight.

When it's knowingly bad fic, it's HI-Larious!
When it's unintentionally bad fic, it's just painful.

You're a nicer person than I could ever be, trying so hard to spare her the embarrassment.

I don't get it. She sent you a five page character study? As a way to tell you she stands by her work? =P

Nope. she just kept dropping posts onto the newsgroup we were both a part of. And I assume that my e-mail to her was one of the nicer bits of FB she recieved.

Fantastic. She wouldn't like to buy a clue, I suppose, then.

No, but I would have *loved* to have hit her with a clue bat.
