shell oil issued a warning, cautioning people to keep cell phones in cars while pumping gas. several people have picked up phone calls while pumping gas, and the energy emitted from the ringing can be enough to light the gas fumes. people have been burned. it's also happened while people have been talking on the phone and pumping gas.

i don't know that it will stop me from doing it, but when i'm on the phone and pumping gas, i will be fully aware that i might blow the joint up. hooray!
