So I've been sick since Thursday, and it's still going strong: head cold, hacking cough, zero energy, and the thing that will prevent me from going to work tomorrow, no voice (I could get myself vertical and force myself through it if only I could talk, but without my voice, I'm not much good as a lecturer). Bah! It doesn't even really seem to be getting better, which is the worst of it. You sort of expect that after spending three days in bed, things should be on the upswing, no?
Anyway, rather than dwell on all that, how about some happy-making things:

beanpot (though I'm not sure she actually posted it here?), an awesome
account of women's friendships.
And here is some
pretty amazing art made out of books. And this also made me remember the awesome
Edinburgh mystery book sculptures, which you should know about, if you don't already!

In other news, I'm not currently watching Once Upon a Time because I sort of don't care that it's on? It took a little longer, but this seems to have followed Revenge on the trajectory of "really promising show helmed by very cool women characters that nevertheless went the way of plot-twistiness and cliche to the point that I stopped caring." I'm rewatching The X-Files instead. At least I know how that one falls apart and can go in steeled for it!
And assuming I get well enough to go pick her up, the pup should be ready to come home by the middle of the week!!!!!!!!!!! More to come on that! :D
