Happy 100th Birthday, International Women's Day!
And also Happy Mardi Gras, for those of you for whom that's relevant. Or as a friend of mine posted on Facebook: Happy International Fat Women's Tuesday! (Speaking of Mardi Gras, who associates Mardi Gras with pancakes? And where do you live? I had never heard of this before I moved to Canada, but maybe my American circles were just too non-Anglican-Protestant for this.)
This link has been making the International Women's Day rounds, and it's pretty awesome. But I'm annoyed that Daniel Craig is the one getting all the press, and that people are passing it around with phrases like "Daniel Craig dresses in drag for International Women's Day," with nary a mention of his female co-star doing the narrating--it makes us all a bit complicit with the very thing the video is trying to combat. So with that in mind, I give you Judi Dench laying the smack-down for International Women's Day.
I have approximately zero free time right now, but I do still want to offer a bit in the way of women-centric ficcish love for the occasion. So I will attempt to write drabbles for the first three people who comment with an appropriate prompt.
And speaking of women-centric fic, watch this space (among others) for news about a likely upcoming reprise of galpalficathon! beanpot and I will let you know when we have acquired a plan (which first involves me emailing her back...).
