I simply do not have words for how much I love this. I love that they have a partnership that is work and friendship and history and affection, that they have routines that work, that they are not in love with each other even a bit, but that they love each other dearly. I like this ending for them.

OOOOOOOH. How utterly lovely, and far sweeter, sadder and more poignant than Susan and Londo being alcoholics together would have been.

It's a lovely portrait of Susan. So apt and undramatic and true. I love your comments about the way a partnership - a friendship without hierarchy or group dynamics, terrifies her.

Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it, even though it's not at all what you asked for. And I'm glad you didn't think it was too fluffy or sentimental (as I look back at it today, it works better for me than it did initially, admittedly, so maybe I should just relax!).
