I don't know how I've missed this, but this summer TNT is premiering a new show about WOMEN COP PARTNERS!!!!!!!!!!! Rizzoli and Isles, starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander. Technically, they're not partners but cop and medical examiner, it seems, but the point is that BOTH LEADS ARE WOMEN!!!! And it looks like they are FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!! Cop

Well, really we should thank the person who decided to upload clips of her top 25 John/Aeryn moments to youtube, thereby providing very convenient video evidence for me to snag! (Though I don't agree with many of her rankings, I must confess.) ;)

those clips were very nice, but what about the kiss in the Flax? a great example of desperation and 'what the hell, we're dying so, might as well say screw the sexual tension' kiss. gotta love how Aeryn and John literally start tearing their suits off to get at one another.

Hmm. I'm not sure "The Flax" kiss would rank particularly high for me. I mean, it's noteworthy because it's the first, and I remember kind of flipping out the first time I saw it because I was used to shows where they draw out the UST forever, and here they were totally making out in SEASON 1, so yeah. It gets plenty of kudos for those reasons, but I can think of at least five or six other J/A kisses I like better.

What I do really love, though is the contrast between the frantic nature of that kiss and the quiet, desperate placidity of the kiss from "A Human Reaction" a few eps later. Both say so much about the characters and the situations and how they've changed in just that short amount of time.

There are absolutely no couples whose kisses rival John and Aeryn for hotness. Or plot advancing. Or anything. Guh.

In other news, the stage name "Sasha Alexander" (which it is, since I just looked it up) is annoying. Because "Sasha" is typically a derivative of Alexander, and as a result this bugs me. And yes, it is completely irrational (not to mention totally irrelevant!), but I thought I would point it out. But I dare say the idea of women cop partners/friends/co-stars is awesome. :)

Um, why don't I have a John/Aeryn icon? Hmmm. Have Aeryn instead! :)

What do you want to bet that she chose it for exactly that reason, too!

I don't know anything about her (apparently she was on NCIS some seasons ago?), and I can't say I've ever loved Angie Harmon all that much, but I'm still pretty stoked at the premise of this show!

TNT has also done some grittier cop shows (none of which I've watched, but about which I hear good things), so there's some potential for this to have some meat to it, as well as having an awesome premise.

This summer I really must check out Leverage. I hear nothing but good things.

ahhhh i love them so much! such great choices, all of those, but my favorite john and aeryn kiss is the one in infinite possibilities part i before john goes into his mind to battle scorpius. where they're standing together next to the pod and she has just one hand on his chest? i love that scene.

Oh yes, that's also a fantastic one! And then later in that ep when he tells her about the radiation and the frantic desperation kiss. Oh John and Aeryn!!! How are you so hot and awesome??? *adores*
