the end of BSG is like the ruination that keeps on ruining

Or something like that.

Hi, flist! I'm still alive. More or less. Work-wise, I never know whether to laugh or cry, so let's just skip past that, shall we?

I felt the need to share that today I saw a TTC bus stop featuring an ad for Aaron Douglas's new series, The Bridge. Apparently he's to play the head of the Toronto police union or something? I ( Read more... )

HI! :D

I think it's also Aaron Douglas especially, because along with EJO, he was so vocal about his enthusiasm for everything that was so faily about BSG. And some of the things he's said at cons have been pretty misogynistic. So I'm not so much wanting him on my TV screen again. Which is all the worse because back in the day I really did love the Chief. Before he started hitting women and all.

He's also a Cylon, though that's not necessarily a bad thing. Hmm. I think I would have a hard time watching new shows with many of the BSG actors. Edward James Olmos and I are totally through. ;)

I'll probably tune in at some point just because it's always fun to see Toronto get to play itself for a change.

Now that will be cool.

Good to see you 'round these parts! *twirls you*

I think I agree with Chaila and Becka below that it's really only EJO and Aaron Douglas that I can't watch in something else. Because they were both so vocal about thinking their characters were awesome when in fact they were awful. But I have watched some of the other actors in other things since--I saw Jamie Bamber in a couple of eps of L&O: UK, and I've seen Rekha Sharma, Kandyse McClure, and Michael Trucco all in random guest spots--and none of that has bothered me.

We'll see how I fall on the opposite pulls of Aaron Douglas vs. Toronto.

*is twirled* :D

I have not yet seen a TV ad for it. I find I don't particularly want to. Hmm.

Oh, Aaron Douglas. I remember when BSG started and we were all, "Chief is my favorite imaginary boyfriend!" because he was all upright and decent.

::sigh::

Well, I still have Charlie Utter and Ellsworth and Sol Star (from Deadwood).

Yes, the speed with which I went from LOVING Chief to HATING him was quite remarkable. That was a special kind of fail. :/

Yes, I do think it's AD, specifically, and not BSG more broadly. Because except for AD and EJO, yes, I think I could watch anyone else in other things. I have, in fact, watched Jamie Bamber in a couple of eps of Law and Order: UK, and I squealed a little bit when Rekha Sharma showed up in something random, etc. But I don't think I can handle Douglas, even on a show set in TO.

Meanwhile, oh Agent Ellison!!!!!! *hearts*

(HI! OMG, my life is INSANE!!!!!!!!! But hopefully by the end of next week I'll have news of varying sorts!)
