I mostly participated in More Joy Day non-fannishly: I took the time to get back in touch with some people I haven't been the best about keeping in touch with, I called some people up for no reason--just because I wanted to say hi. My problem is keeping in touch with people who aren't connected to their email and/or Facebook 24/7. Because I've never been a big phone person anyway, and especially since I've moved to Canada, people feel like they can't call me because it's not included in their plan, and even though I have US long distance included in mine, I just...forget. And as a result, there are two or three of my very dearest friends that I will go months and months and months without talking to, so much that I sort of forget how much I miss them, until suddenly I think of them and it's like a ton of bricks how much I miss them. So yeah. Trying to do better with that. I wonder if it would help to make it a proper resolution ( ... )

I am REALLY EXCITED about next week's Castle. That promo worked its magic on me.

I really like the father/daughter relationship of Lie To Me. And Gillian. She makes me really really happy.

I get a little bouncy every time I think about that promo, yes! OMG!!!

And yes, I'm really enjoying the relationship between Cal and Emily. It's not as shiny as Castle and Alexis, but it's also more realistic, I think--Cal tries to be a good father, but sometimes he's not so good at it. Emily is more of a regular, quasi-rebellious teenager, etc. And I haven't seen much of it yet, but I understand there is more of this to come (I've spoiled myself a lot), but I particularly adore the idea that Emily and Gillian get along so well. There's something I really love about the dynamics between a teenage girl and an adult woman who isn't her mother--that part-mentor, part-friend thing. I'd love to see more of that on Castle, too, between Alexis and Beckett.

And yes, I've given in to my adoration of Gillian. I spent a few episodes trying to figure out why I found her awesome instead of annoying, because on paper she ought to have annoyed me, I thought, but I gave up and have made my peace with the fact that she makes me ridiculously happy!

I saw that Slings and Arrows vid right before I went to sleep last night and just . . . OMG, so much love. I . . . Geoffrey, and Ellen, and Oliver, and show!

OMG, I hadn't even noticed that there was new Castle. I'll have to *ahem* download 2.12 this weekend and then wait flailing for the above-mentioned episode to come up.

This past week's ep was pretty charming--they managed to have an ep about a wedding that didn't irritate the hell out of me, which is significant, given my fairly low tolerance for wedding-related things. But yeah, next week's looks like a whole different ball game! I can't wait!!!
