First, an apology! aurora_novarum asked for my favorite "another fine mess you've gotten us into" moments for SG-1, and I've been wracking my brain for three days, and it turns out that my recollection of the show on that level is just gone! I mean, I've never been terribly good with details about specific scenes (and I'm especially bad with dialogue), and SG-1 ( Read more... )

B5 is very funny all around! Funny banter is one of Straczinski's strong suits. And I do recommend the series as a whole--though keep in mind that it's rather uneven, with good parts that are as good as anything you've ever seen, and bad parts that are worse than you can imagine! Oh, B5!!!

I didn't mean to stump you! I'm so sorry!

(But clearly, you need to start rewatching SG-1 eps to refresh your memory. Heh. Oh the torture! ;-)

What's funny is I was THINKING of Bad Guys when I made that comment. I can come up with a new one if you want instead.

That's okay! I'm sorry I wasn't able to answer! It was a perfectly reasonable request, but I'm just SO BAD at remembering that kind of thing. I don't have a very good visual memory. I thought if I looked through an episode list it would help, but...no. :(

Unfortunately, the list of things to watch and to rewatch far exceeds my available time at the moment! And rewatching SG-1 isn't particularly high on the list, though I suppose it is on there somewhere. One of these days, I'm sure!

If you want to do another prompt, that would be cool, but don't worry about it if you don't want to--whatever!

4. Yes! That was so exciting. I was so sure the human "five priests of the one who must not be named" would be connected to the Final Five and the Cylon god. Sadness.

I remember sort of flapping my hands at the screen in a very literal way at that line. And possibly bouncing. *le sigh* It still hurts to think about the meta and how much faith I had that they knew what they were doing and would manage to make it cool.

Awesome! :D

You make me wish I'd stuck with my DS9 rewatch! I should get back to that. I have to be honest, while I LOVED the mystical aspects of BSG (you know, prior to the finale of doom), I was always oddly uninspired by the actual...moments that things were resolved? So like, I loved the concept of the Arrow of Apollo, but then the constellation holoshow I was like..."meh". And I loved the visions D'Anna was having, but the actual temple was like...meh. Possibly though, I'm far too harsh on Rapture because I was so bored by the Quadrangle stuff in it.

But OMG YES YES YES to the stealing the election thing. That's definitely one of my top moments of metagasm ever because, like, it's not every day that something comes along and makes you question your entire perception of democracy without actually making you turn away from it, just...suddenly understand how radically dangerous it has the potential to be?

Also ELLISON. GOD. ROBOTS. HEART. *cries for lost awesome of the show due to unfair cancellation*

I've been a bit on hold with my DS9 watching, actually--held up right after "Children of Time," in fact. Though just this week I've gotten back to it and watched a couple more episodes. It was a casualty of the confluence of too much awesome TV airing in real time back in January, and it's taken me until now to get back to it. I'm glad I am, though!!! Kira! Odo! Sisko! I've missed you ( ... )

You know, it almost doesn't matter that you can't recall the specifics about certain SG-1 episodes, because when you said: and I can hear Jack saying "Daniel!?" and "Carter?!" in that voice - I had to smile because I knew EXACTLY what you meant. ; )
