the book meme

Jun 22, 2009 22:57

I'm mostly not here for the next couple of weeks. This week is entirely insane (but hopefully in at least partly good ways), and then next week I'm out of town with irregular internet access. So, y'know, don't break the internets while I'm away. :) I mean, I'll still be popping in from time to time, but not regularly.

But before I go dim, I couldn't resist the book meme that's been going around! Snagged from everyone:

Don’t take too long to think about it.
Fifteen books you’ve read that will always stick with you.
First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.
Copy the instructions into your own post.

1. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
2. How Can We Get to the Zoo by Irma Joyce
3. The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis
4. Till We Have Faces by C. S. Lewis
5. Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
6. The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton
7. Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery
8. Bibliography and the Sociology of Texts by D. F. McKenzie (hi, I am a GEEK)
9. All The King's Men by Robert Penn Warren
10. Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray
11. Four Quartets by T. S. Eliot
12. A Circle of Quiet by Madeleine L'Engle
13. Clarissa by Samuel Richardson
14. Ulysses by James Joyce
15. Possession by A. S. Byatt

And that's fifteen. I could, uh, keep on with this for quite a while longer! This makes me want to go on a re-reading spree! The second, since it's probably not familiar to most of you, is this book, which was my Very Favorite Book when I was about 2. I insisted on having it read to me multiple times every day. I still have parts of it memorized. So do my parents. :)
