Oh I like this, the relationship between the host and Goa'uld/Tok'ra has always fascinated me. I've always thought it was more complicated than it has been portrayed on the series. It's great to read a fic that touches on that complexity.
Love the insight into the three women and how it ties them all together.
Thanks! And yeah, the Goa'uld/host relationship is fascinating, and I've been wanting to play with it--especially since Vala has been on the show--so I was glad finally to have gotten an opportunity.
Great Fic. : ) Love the insight into Sarah, Vala and Sam.
I always wondered what happened to Sarah. How do you return to life on Earth after what she has been thru? It makes sense that she has cut herself of from world. I imagine that she even refuses to see Daniel which for me explains why he got more angry than I thought he would about Vala's request.
The ending surprised me. I like how you left it open like that. I thought you might be going for a bit of closure for Sarah or Vala.
I love the Buffy reference. : ) I read a fic awhile back that had Tealc being a HUGE fan of XENA.
Thank you! And wasn't it a fabulous prompt?!?!?!? (it was actually a main request for Sam and Vala paired with a wild card request for Sarah and the Ex-Hosts Club, but the moment I read them I knew exactly what I wanted to write!) I feel like if this is any good at all, then Rydra deserves partial credit for having such great requests (of course, if it sucks, then it's my fault alone!).
You have an excellent grasp of Vala.
Wow--thanks! Trying to bring out Vala's serious side while still keeping her Vala was definitely the hardest part of writing this, and I feel like I could have done better--or rather that a greater writer could have done better! But I'm glad she rings true to you. I've been itching forever to play with Vala as former host: so satisfying to get a good opportunity to do so. ;)

And Sarah-Sam-Vala was exactly what I secretly envisioned for the Ex-Hosts Club, but I didn't specify that because I figured no-one would write it anyway! *beams*
...what lovely lines you weave between these women, linking them so irrevocably together as unique, select survivors. i love what you've done with vala here. actually, all of the voices are just spot on.

You picked the wild card that I thought nobody would ever write, and did it so wonderfully! Thank you so much!

I'm pretty sure I shrieked with joy when I read your request--such a great idea! I'm glad you thought I did it at least some degree of justice.

And if I've ever got a choice between going for closure or not, expect open-endedness! Life's way too messy for closure! ;)
