1. I'm kind of obsessed with the Firefly clan from the movies House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects. Otis and Baby are just weirdly hot to me, and I think Captain Spaulding's one of the most amusing characters I've seen in a horror movie period.
2. Generally, I have to name everything I create, namely stories, essays, and journal entries, using song lyrics. This one uses lines from Interpol's "Rest My Chemistry."
3. Right now, I'm pulling a Sienna Miller fashion faux pas and wearing just those weird legging things that were popular when I was a little kid, and no actual jeans or a skirt.
4. 90% of the time, if it's a choice between the normal edition and the movie tie-in version of a book, I have to get the movie tie-in one.
5. Whenever I'm feeling blue or just need a pick-me-up, I dip Oreos in milk and watch House of Wax. Not the classic Vincent Price one. The Paris Hilton one, which features Chad Michael Murray as Elisha Cuthbert's brother/boyfriend.
6. I'm addicted to fandomsecrets, fanficrants and weepingcock.
7. I will never forgive whoever picked the music for Twilight for ruining Iron & Wine's "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" for me. It's a beautiful song, and now I will forever equate it with both terrible, cheesy-ass dialogue and aquidis's "Edward is a Time Lord" rewrite.
8. The last time my computer threw a shitfit, I relished not having it. Now that I'm actually writing all the time, I sort of want to cry.
9. I consider Chinese New Year the real New Year.
10. The soy versions of meat always taste better to me than the real thing.
11. Sometimes it scares me that I see so much of myself in the character of Jenny Schecter.
12. I was born at 12:05 on Friday morning, January 9th, 1987. "Just in time for the weekend," as my mother says.
13. Aside from computer issues, the biggest disappointment I can claim in the past week is that the first season of Carnivale is always rented out at the video store, and I need my Bill Moseley and Justin/Iris fix.
14. The most soothing activity I can think of is piecing together puzzles while listening to This American Life.
15. Whenever I'm in the computer lab like I am now, I always imagine that everyone else is doing actual work, while I'm doing frivolous stuff like checking LJ and ordering hoodies from Total Skull.
16. The most exciting TV spoilers I've read recently are that there will be more attention paid to Heather's crush on Sarah in Big Love, and that Ted and Robin become "friends with benefits" on HIMYM.
