Interesting

I took care of an eight-month-old kitten named Monster from Thursday 'til Monday evening. I grew very attached to her. I keep imagining that she is lying in wait somewhere in my apartment and that any time now she will pounce on me.

Meanwhile, some interesting news -- in fact, the kind of news I find most interesting (well, I guess I love language more than math, but I sort of equate them in a way):

So do I get a kitten or do I get a parrot?

Maybe I should get both. That could be very interesting indeed.

P.S. Speaking of monsters, cats and birds, did you know that "sphinx" and "sphincter" both come from "sphingo" ("bind tight")? Maybe it was ignorant of me and all of you know this already, but I didn't know that our eyeballs were held in by sphincters until my sister told me last year (so I still find it hilarious). "Sphinx", I believe, is called that because she is a monster who clings fast to young men (and devours them)...
