More Paint-Your-Own Windstone fun

Finally got some good pictures of jepdragoon's PYO dragon all sealed up.

As I said before he was a bugger to paint in a way that didn't outright clash with the eyes. I'm happy with the final results and from jepdragoon's initial reaction to the "preview" pictures so is he.

I also finished up a PYO kirin all for me. I wasn't originally going to do a PYO just for me yet, but with the list of PYOs for gifts consisting of mostly dragons I decided to alternate between dragons and a PYO of a different sort. The first one I picked was a Kirin.

Yes I know there's purple on the kirin. So how can I call it a sapphire kirin? Because that was my initial idea to do it in sapphire colors. I've been kicking around an idea of birthstone PYOs (at first it was just kirins, but I just realized how much fun it could be to expand it out to some of the other sculpts). I was initially going to paint the belly on this kirin a lighter pearl blue, but when I came to that point the kirin asked for something else. I didn't mind because I like how black, blue and purple look together. Let me tell you though finding a good vibrant pearl purple is nearly impossible. I had to mix this one up using a dark purple and a color called "violet pearl" together. The violet pearl was too light to go with the sapphire blue, but once I mixed in some dark purple it looked almost right. It lost some of its pearly shimmer, but that's okay.

Now I'm on to working on one of two dragons for angelicvixen783 and tiger9652.
