The saga of trying to make it to my yearly womanly appointment continues. My appointment was scheduled for Feb. 19 orginally. The doctor's office called a week or so after I made it because they realized the 19th was a holiday and asked if I could come in the next day. No problem I said.

The problem arrived today. I tried calling on Friday to set up hourly care for Gavin. No one answered the phone and I suppose it's because there was a training holiday this weekend. Since I knew the daycare would be closed yesterday I didn't try calling. I called this morning at 8:15 and they are all full for this afternoon.

I have no idea what I am going to do now. I can't even talk to druidmage about this right now because he's out on some sort of equipment draw and I don't know when he will be near his phone or in a spot that he gets reception. I hate to call and try to reschedule, but I'm thinking this is what I am going to have to do.

In case you missed the first part of this drama I tried to schedule the appointment back in December before my birth control was due to run out. I called the Army hospital one Monday to be told all the slots for the week were full. Called the next Monday and was told the same thing. At this point I had two weeks left on my prescription with no refills. I called back in tears and asked what I could do and they gave me the number to two doctors approved by Tricare. One was all booked up like the hospital. The other was able to see me before the end of the week when we were due to go on leave. Since it hadn't been a full year since my last exam he couldn't do that unless I wanted to pay $160, but he could give me a prescription so I wouldn't be off birth control for more than a month before I could get seen. He was also kind enough to schedule an appointment for me so I wouldn't have to go through the Hell of trying to get seen at the hospital.

And now I don't think I'll be able to go because I have no one to watch my son.

Edit @ 0945: Whew! druidmage talked to his sergeant and it sounds like they are cool with him taking the time off to watch Gavin so I don't have to cancel my appointment.
