Hello everyone! Many of you may know that I edited a book (with my friends Stephanie and Michael): "Off the Charts: Asynchrony and the Gifted Child" Royal Fireworks Press (www.rfwp.com) which came out just before Christmas, 2012. The book is all about the Asynchronous Development definition of giftedness that I created with four other colleagues 20 years ago. It was our unveiling, so to speak.
Now my publisher wants me to write a book on my own, by students for students. The idea is to have young gifted adults respond to a survey of questions and statements on line that would be the basis for this book. The questions would be open ended so they can be as short or long as needed. My hope is that the culmination will be a book that will explore important understandings that "slightly" older gifted individuals have that could benefit younger gifted people still in their teen years.(and give them hope for the future.)
I am just beginning to think this venture through and the survey is not yet completed or vetted by experts in the field. I would love to have PEGs heavily represented in the sample. If you are interested, would you e mail me at: mainecheetah@gmail.com You can choose your own pseudonym. I will use a qualitative approach to finding similarities, differences and patterns in the responses. What do you think? I am aiming for 60-80 former students for this project. You are the first that I have asked. Thanks. Tee
