Aside from the background melancholy of having to pack up the library & the appalling possibility of sequestration hanging over my head, it's been a pretty good week. For the first time since the operations, I was able to wear a button-down shirt for 4 days in a row.
The library was flooded with visitors on Wed., when NASA HQ had a tweetup. One visitor works at the Normal. IL Challenger Center, which is thinking of installing a planetarium. If a few chips fall well, I might get a sale of one of my shows out of this chance meeting.
Yesterday, I took the day off to help judge the science fair at Forest Heights, where Elizabeth teaches. Although she's too busy this year, as the head of spec. ed., to be the science coordinator, I wanted to continue to judge there, because the kids have now gotten the meme that people from NASA come to their school. The projects look sharper, & some of the actual experiments were very good.
