[THAT'S FUNNY SOMEONE WAS JUST ON THE VERGE OF NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTAIN HERSELF ANYMORE AND WAS JUST ABOUT TO WALK OUT THE DOOR. You can bet your bottom dollar she was glued to that TV all week and watching Deathborn Sir Cheap Imitation Mother Brain in a Jar Guy try to curb stomp Falcon was not easy. She is armed to the teeth and by that I mean the Power Suit is super shiny today. Shiny with rage.]

[OH HEY BABE nice robot suit. Falcon maybe looks a little surprised to see her filling the doorway with the power suit on WHAT IS THE OCCASION. It makes for many difficulties trying to get inside.]

[Jeesus Christ it's a Falcon get inside. SHE GLANCES AROUND TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO OTHER VISITORS WITH FALCON before bringing him inside and the suit does that mysterious dematerializing into thin air thing. And then a hug.]

Are you alright? [PULL BACK AND EXAMINE] Are you hurt? [She notices THE BELT.] Is that...?

[Nope, it's just Falcon. Once the power suit is out of the way and they are inside he gives her the biggest hug ever that maybe involves lifting her off the floor a little bit.]

I'm okay, see? [He is actually not hurt! At her inquiry, he holds out the belt, which she might notice is not exactly the same belt he received for winning the Grand Prix. HOW MYSTERIOUS.]

[He is not hurt that is so good, so she can relax a little and enjoy that hug. Yeah that belt looks. Slightly different. And Falcon certainly looked distressed about something despite appearing okay otherwise.]

...It looks a lot different on TV. [She's reaching out to touch it.]

[Woops, nope. Falcon pulls that sucker away before she can touch it.]

[Storytime!]

When F-Zero was suspended, a lot of racers went underground. Some of them stayed there. So now you've got the reinstated Grand Prix, with new rules that are supposed to keep us all from getting killed again. And you have the underground, which is exactly what it sounds like. No rules. Sometimes I make busts down there, depending, but I didn't know who was running the show until now.

He challenged you to a race, I assume on his own turf then, since Black Shadow couldn't beat you. [That is slightly disturbing to think about, for how badly Black Shadow injured Falcon when he managed to catch him off guard, and this Deathborn guy struck him down with a literal flick of his hand... an underground race with him must of been exceedingly dangerous.]

So is that belt the result of an underground race? [Obviously Falcon won... right?]

Yeah, I raced him in what he called the Underworld. Apparently they have their own belt? [Who knew?]

[This brings him to stare long and hard at the belt that is sitting on the table. Eventually, he nods.]

It's his belt and my belt.

So they combine? [COMBINING CHAMPIONSHIP BELTS. STRANGE. But believable. Man, F-Zero racing is such serious business, it's almost ridiculous.]

Is he dead...? [She knows what this answer will probably be but is gonna ask anyway]

I mean. I guess? He went on and on about "universal forces" and how he was. Going to use the combined belts to take over the world or some shit like that.

So we raced and I beat him and his car fell off the track into some...lava.

I'm not sure he's dead.

I suppose that effectively makes you the best of both worlds.
