lack-luster...that perfectly describes how i ended my last blog to you guys...somedays i feel like i need to have internet at my apartment, just so i can write all evening to fully inform you all of what's going on here in Toledo.  Other days I think its best that I don't have that capability...because that's ALL i would do.  You guys would reap the benefits...but my dishes would never get washed, the carpets would never be vacuumed, hell, i'd probably go all NASA employee and start wearing an adult diaper just to maximize the time i spent in front of the computer.  gross.

At any rate, just because I have a few minutes here, lets recap the rest of my birthday weekend yo.

After work on Saturday, I burned a couple CDs at the station, then headed over to Needlemasters to hook up with Mario.  After the tattooing was all said and done, I stuck around to chit chat with Stephanie, Garrick, and Tony...made it back to my apartment around 4:!5ish. I spent the next hour or so with my nose buried in cookbooks trying to get in contact with Heidi so we could plan out the b-day dinner.  This is how much of a foodie i am...it was an agonizing decision trying to decide whether i wanted sushi or falafel.  nerd to the max.  So we got things sqaured away...i finally made up my damn mind...got a hold of heidi...and the ball for the birthday evening was rolling. I went out to run a couple errands (ie buy a casserole dish and gauze for my tattoo and pick up falafel) then went home to watch the suns/spurs game, read and tidy up before the robers arrived around 9pm.

They're so sweet...only true friends will trust me enough to bring me a 7-inch santoku knife for my birthday.  haha.   THey were also kind enough to bring me a copy of 'Stranger than Fiction.'  So we hung out, watched that, and ate a ridiculous amount of salad, falafel, hummus, and ss6 pita chips.  it was terribly low key..and just how i wanted to end my 25th birthday.  I was telling jonas I wish everyone that i knew could have been there to just hang out...but it was good nonetheless.  We got a nice sugar buzz off of cake and they headed home around 12:30 ish?  Not too sure about the time...but meh.

Sunday was church in the morning, then grocery stores...then home for PBS programming.  I went to bed bath and beyond to destress and just stared at the cuisinart ice cream maker i want so badly.

I was finishing up my errands when Lazenby called to say that the doors for the Mastodon show were opening in about 45 minutes.  So i darted home, changed clothes, and we were on our way to Detroit.  He thought the show was at St. Andrews..but when we got there, the place was totally empty.  I ended up calling my folks, who i knew would have immediate internet access and we realized the show was at the State Theater...which luckily, was just down the road.

So once we got there, got the tickets, and made it through the security (who asked me what kind of pills I was selling.  Its fun to honestly answer: multivitamins, green tea extract, antihistamines, and calcium supplements)...Cursive was just starting their set. The best thing about this bill was the fact that all 4 bands drew out different crowds..but all that we saw was amazing.  Cursive was phenomenal, Against Me was just as good, and Mastodon...jeebus...Mastodon was over an hour of the best metal band out right now.  No joke.  and its not every day you have a group that physically resembles the beasts on its album covers.  But i think part of my face was rocked off.

Show ended @10:30 and we made it back to Toledo between 11:30 and midnight. way to cap off the big quarter century bday weekend :) thanks to everyone for the happy happies and such.  makes me feel special...

ANOTHER HUGE happening this weekend is the end of the NYC apartment search.  An incredible place for an incredible price.  Just fell into our laps and we couldn't pass it up.  Unfortunately, its a place without Kyle.  Certain circumstances prevented it from happening...which sucks because we don't want him to be pissed...but hopefully, all is good and he'll still come over for supper clubs and cake.

i'm stoked to be secure in having a great location to hang my 'hat'  or chefs coat, hahah. nerd.

So monday at work wasn't too too bad...steadily busy i suppose..people are getting in the habit of turning in things really late in the day...which makes the last couple hours fly by.  I went home, ate sushi, bummed around the new Claudias Market, ran into KC and Stoney...came home, did my Body Shop invites, called Anna's mom about rent money...and that was about it.

Yesterday afternoon i also got a more than welcome phone call from n!ck.  He said he would probably be in S Korea for another month or so...the back stateside!!!!!!!  i miss that kid tons! it was really nice to finally hear his voice.  I hope he's able to finish school and stuff...

So i'm at work right now...all i have to do later tonight is get my hairs cut.

I'm going home this weekend kids...and i took Monday off work...so i'll be around a bit longer than usual :)

some of the conversations i've had over the past couple days have been totally necessary and for me at least, cleansing.  i feel good.

i mean, i gotta pee...but overall i feel good.

time to make more spots and maybe update the Kitchen.  I have photos to upload there yo.
