1) Reply with "Flying saucers for everybody!" and I'll give you four fandoms. You then have to make an entry writing about your favorite character from each fandom, and why.
Disney - When I was little, I always had three favorite Disney princesses: Anastasia, Megara, and Belle. I'm pretty sure it's no coincidence that none of them were blonde and all of them had brains in their heads, but that's not the point. Since Anastasia isn't technically Disney and I like Meg better than Belle, I'm going to focus on her.
Aside from the obvious shared name, I adore her because, well, she's got balls. Very feminine balls, which makes it even better. She's a bitchy, outwardly-confident-but-inwardly-struggling smartass with a chip in her shoulder, who's more likely to deck the big hunky hero than go doe-eyed -- or worse yet, maternal -- over him. Even when she did inevitably fall in love (it IS a disney movie, after all), she went in kicking and screaming, because she'd already been there once and wanted no part of it. It took NINE persistent mythological figures just to make her admit that okayMAYBEshelikeshimalittlbitSHUTUP.
[[EDIT: Upon further review, it seems there were only five muses in that movie. What the hell, Disney? What did Erato, Euterpe, Urania, and Polyhymnia ever do to you?]]
Lord of the Rings - This one's difficult because I haven't actually spent much time with the series since I was too small and silly to care about much more than whose dress is the prettiest. Looking back, though, I'd have to say I'm rather fond of Merry. Not Pippin - Pippin does stupid shit and gets everybody in trouble without thinking. Okay, Merry does stupid shit too, but he's more of a sweetie about it. He's got that adorable mixture of mischief and good intentions.
Firefly - Another tricky one, because Kaylee's been done, and River seems a little too cliche. This MAY just be because I've just been watching Castle, but I think I'm going to go with Mal on this. He's the Angsty Hero With a Past who doesn't feel the need to angst 24/7. Sure, shit happened. Sure, he's still upset about it. Sure, there are wounds that you best not be pokin' if you know what's good for you. That doesn't mean that he's not going to crack jokes or be affectionate with his crew or start barfights for the jolly hell of it. He's got a bit of a hero complex (going down with the ship in Out of Gas? Really, Mal? Have ye no sense in your head, boyo?), but when it comes right down to it, he's a damn good captain, and even kind of a father figure. I sure as hell would want him as my captain if I were flying out in the black.
Harry Potter - This is also a canon I haven't really indulged in for a few years (I never even got around to reading the last book), but it's not much of a contest. I adore Fred and George. (since they're a matched set, I can pick two. shut up.) I don't necessarily have a good reason for liking them, but hell, why wouldn't you? They're fantastic! I also can't help but notice that every single character I've picked is either full of mischief, or a total smartass, or both. That says nothing about me. Really. I swear.

2) Reply to this post with a sentence involving the word "sing" or "singing" and I will respond with a few lines of song lyrics that explain how I think about you/ remind me strongly of you.
