This is an excelent article about help desk callers wish I would have had a decade ago. I subconciously figured out everything he has written, but I didn't know how to communicate it to others - to me I just has an instinct on how to deal with each caller that I picked up on usually within the first minute of a call. One of my coworkers has been talking me up to the boss. I've been nominated for CCNA training. Though I've configured many routers in the past, including limited Cisco work, I do not know Cisco. After my training session yesterday, then sleeping last night, I can do it before the timers up. There's a couple I get mixed up still, but I can do it before the timers up. I'm still doing it over, and I'll keep doing it until I don't hesitate anymore.
