Today work finally begins to replace the damaged windows and doors from the fire back in August. I am so excited to have this part done, because that means next comes the new siding and shutters. It's still so strange to go in the back yard and see the melted shutters and siding hanging off the house in sheets. I keep having dreams about the fire, and I have to keep checking the back yard every time it storms. Our new shed arrived last week, and now I'm dreading every lighning storm for fear it might strike us again. Two times in 2 years is a little much! Plus, while we were camping for Labor Day, lightning hit a tree very near our camper. We must be human lighning rods! But getting the damages fixed will be a much needed return to (near)normalcy. :)
