Once, Last Chance was a tourist trap: a final pitstop - gas food hotel - before the transcontinental traveller hit the Mother Road. Last Chance watched the rise of American motor culture - from the wild days when the hitching posts that still line Old Downtown were in daily use by cowboys and ranchers, through the Model Ts full of flappers and bootleggers and the infamous stickup by Bonnie & Clyde, to the glory days of tailfins and chrome when the town came into its own.
Then the '70s came, and the interstate was built, and Last Chance slowly died. The pavement cracked in the sun. The paint on the billboards faded. The neon signs flickered and buzzed. Time rolled on, but nobody rolled through town.
Lately, though, it's becoming a tourist trap again. Strange things have been happening: weird lights in the sky, haunting occurrences, rumors of unnatural beasts killing cattle on the plains...
Maybe it's just hokey nonsense. After all, it started with a story in the Weekly World News. But it's good for business, and a lot of visitors swear there's something about this place that puts their hackles up...
Last Chance, Texas is a panfandom RPG, accepting both canon and original characters. We're just working on getting underway, so you'll be getting in on the ground floor - and we believe in letting the players help build the game, so that they get what they want out of it. So come have fun!
