Prompt: Sweets (Candy)
Characters: Quinn and Erin
Rating: PG
Summary: The teenaged twins are talking and eating candy.
Notes: Myshuno Prompt #14
Word Count: 450

"Mom and Dad really, honestly don't realize we know what they're doing in their room, do they?" Quinn asked his sister as the two of them lounged on Erin's bed. They were munching on the stash of candy Erin usually had hidden in her closet.

"Well, I imagine it's like turning on the fan in the bathroom. It convinces a person that they can't be heard and the people outside of the bathroom pretend that they can't hear anything. Mom and Dad's radio is kind of like that," the red headed girl said as she squished a piece of caramel between her fingers.

"Easy for you to say. You don't share a wall with them," he said dryly.

"You should be thankful that their headboard isn't against the shared wall," she responded with a giggle. She popped the now soft and sticky sweet into her mouth and made a small, blissful moan. "Oh man, Quinn, have a piece of caramel. It's totally my favorite because it's so good."

Her red headed twin looked longingly at the light brown cubes wrapped in clear cellophane. "I can't," he said reluctantly. He bared his teeth and tapped a fingernail against the metal brackets on them. "Nothing chewy because it might do something bad to my braces."

Erin looked sorrowfully at the pile of candy and unconsciously ran her tongue over her straight teeth. "Well, if you can't have any chewy candy, then it would be unfair for me to eat it in front of you," she said with a nod. She separated the offending candy and put it to the side. "Jawbreaker?" she asked.

Quinn shrugged. "I don't think I'm supposed to eat any sweets. But the occasional piece of hard candy can't do any harm, can it? So long as I don't bite down on it," he smiled as he popped a red jawbreaker into his mouth.

"Who would bite down on a jawbreaker?" Erin asked as she did just that. Her eyes suddenly widened. "Ow," she squeaked as tears filled her eyes. She spit out the piece of candy, for once ignoring the mess she made. She swished her tongue over her back tooth, stuck it out, and pulled off a small, white piece of enamel. "Oh no, I chipped a tooth!" she gave her brother a panicked look. His expression mirrored her own and was mixed with sympathy as well.

"Does it hurt?"

She nodded as her lip trembled. "Mom and Dad are going to kill me!"

"Yeah, they don't like to be interrupted."

"Oh man, I wasn't even thinking about that! They're going to take away my candy!" she wailed.

All Quinn could do was pat her shoulder sympathetically.

Prompt: Puck and Titania Regarding Erin
Characters: Puck and Titania Summerdream
Rating: G
Summary: Teenaged Puck discusses some of his concerns about his fate with Erin.
Notes: Myshuno Prompt #15
Word Count: 555

Lachesis (though in her own mind she still referred to herself as Titania) quietly wove life threads while Puck sat on the ground with his back against her loom. As soon as he had entered her realm she had given both Clotho and Atropos a surreptitious nod, and the two of them had left the weaving area quietly, leaving her alone with her teenaged son. She had only given him a welcoming smile and then remained silent. He would tell her what was on his mind in his own time. All she had to do was wait.

And wait she did. For fifteen minutes she observed him from the corner of her eye and watched as his face went back and forth between blushing and smiling. Surprisingly, his face settled on worry when he finally spoke.

"What if she doesn't like me?" he asked quietly.

There was no need for him to say who 'she' was.

"Why wouldn't she like you?" Titania asked.

He shrugged. "Sometimes people get married when they don't like each other."

She nodded, conceding his point. "This is true, but that is not the case here. You..." she trailed off as she thought about the right words to say. "You are 'her type' I guess is the best way to put it. She just doesn't know what her 'type' is yet. She's young. You're the strong, silent type. You're steady and dependable. You're caring and kind. And, if you don't mind my saying, though you'll probably think I'm saying this because I'm your mother, but you're also very good looking. You are quite the catch."

He ducked his head shyly and rolled his eyes. "Okay, Mama." He was quiet for another moment, then he said, "She has a boyfriend though."

Titania smiled. "Yes she does. For now. I didn't think you'd let that worry you, knowing what you know."

"Yeah, I suppose. You say that I'll be good for her. But will she be good for me?"

Titania chuckled. "Yes, I think she will be."

"If I get married to her, that is."

She raised an eyebrow. "'If'?'"

He nodded. "Yeah, 'if.' That's what the vision said. I either follow the path Papa wants me to, or I get married to Erin."

"Ah," was all Titania said. He was slightly misinterpreting the images. He was going to get married to Erin Devereaux no matter which path he chose. It was only that one of the paths would end up being happier...in the long run. However, she decided not to correct him.

"Will we be happy together if we get married?"

She raised her eyebrows. "You know I can't tell you that. You will have to wait and see."

He sighed. "Yeah, I know. I just thought that maybe..." he shrugged. "What if I don't like her?"

She cocked her head and gave him a small smile. "Do you really think that will be an issue?"

His cheeks turned a furious shade of red. "No," he whispered. A grin widened on his flushed face. "I surprised her with a kiss at the stable today. I don't know why I did, but it just seemed like the right thing to do at the moment."

Titania laughed quietly. Oh yes, Erin Devereaux was already very good for her incredibly sweet, but painfully shy, son.

Prompt: “You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” ~Dr. Seuss
Characters: Erin and Puck
Rating: PG
Summary: Puck is awake early on Christmas Eve
Notes: Myshuno prompt #16 (This scene is incomplete and will appear, in its entirety, in my next chapter).
Word Count: 630

Puck eyes stared at the ceiling above him as a faint blue light filtered through the blinds of the bedroom window in his apartment. He was too excited to sleep. Too nervous to sleep as well, but that was understandable. He glanced over at his alarm clock and was confused for a moment as to why he couldn't see the blue numbers. Then he remembered that Erin had thrown his shirt over it to cover up the bright display; she liked it to be completely dark when she went to sleep. He shifted the shirt slightly and then placed it back when he saw the time.

6:00 AM

He burrowed under the covers again, drawing Erin's warm body close to his. She made a mumbling sound in the back of her throat but didn't wake up. However her body fit perfectly against him. He sighed with contentment and willed himself to go back to sleep.

But excitement drove any sort of drowsiness away and his eyes popped open. It had been like that all night long. He sighed again, this time with reluctance. He slowly removed himself from the warm cocoon and padded toward the window and looked out.

Snow was covering the ground. It looked like it was going to be a white Christmas. The snowstorm that the weathermen had been predicting hadn't hit yet, but Puck hoped it wouldn't come until the day after tomorrow; the day after Christmas. But that was a completely separate worry from the other one Puck had at that moment.

He walked quietly into his living room, opened up his desk drawer, and pulled out the small, black velvet box that he had tucked into the back. He walked back into his bedroom, sat down on the edge of his bed and opened the box.

He had no idea how to propose to Erin. He had vague thoughts of doing it in front of everyone at the Christmas party her family threw every year, but the thought of having everyone watching made him cringe. He thought about popping over at her house Christmas morning when her family was opening their gifts, but, again, the thought of people watching, particularly Erin's father (who he knew would smirk the entire time!), also made him pause.

So that left this morning; Christmas Eve morning. But his tiny apartment, which had no seasonal decorations, wasn't terribly romantic. Heck, he didn't even have much in the way of food in his refrigerator, so a 'breakfast in bed' proposal wasn't even an option. Then an idea occurred to him: it might be pretty romantic to wake her up with a marriage proposal. The more he turned it over in his mind, the better the idea sounded.

With a grin, he slid under the covers and wrapped his arms around her. "Erin," he whispered.

"Mmm, sleeping," she mumbled back.

He kissed her neck and whispered again, "Erin, wake up."

"Mmm, no, I told you, not before I've had coffee," she grumbled again as she buried her head under the blankets.

Realizing that he was about to lose his courage, he straddled her hips and placed his hands on either side of her head. "Erin, wake up, I have something to give you."

"Fine, Puck, do what you want to me. Just don't wake me up. Sleeping!"

For a moment, a brief moment, he thought about doing just that. He blushed and cast the thought to the side, almost ashamed that he had even contemplated it. Almost ashamed. "Erin, you are making it very hard to propose to you."

"Fine, Puck, yes I'll marry you," she said with a wave of her hand as she drifted back to sleep.

He blinked. This was not going as well as he had hoped...

Prompt: "The kids are finally asleep!"
Characters: Vaughn and Laurana
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Vaughn and Laurana enjoy a moment of silence.
Notes: Myshuno Prompt #17
Word Count: 425

"Ugh, the kids are finally asleep," Laurana said as she flopped down onto the couch next to Vaughn. He placed his arm around her shoulder and she snuggled against him.

"So now what do you want to do?" he asked.

She shrugged. "Well I really wanted to finish reading my book, but I have a feeling that I'd just fall asleep. Who knew that taking care of twins would be such hard work?" she asked with feigned ignorance. Then she smiled and said, "So I won't read my book. I can think of a whole lot more fun things to do with our time, if you catch my drift."

Vaughn grinned, quirked his eyebrow and then...smirked.

She drew back from him then burst out laughing. "Oh my God, please don't do that again!"

He gave her a confused look. "What? What did I do?"

"You smirked!"

"I most certainly did not!"

"You did! And you looked just like your dad when you did that!"

"No I didn't. I think I would know if I were smirking," he said with a smirk, which just made her double over and laugh even harder.

"You..you don't even know that you're doing it," she said between gasps.

"I'm not like that," Vaughn said indignantly. "If I were, I'd say something like, 'Hey sweet cheeks, why don't you get your pretty little ass into something revealing. Preferably nothing at all.' And then I would smirk. But I didn't say anything of the sort."

"Oh, God, do you think he talks to Eden like that? Oh man, and she'd probably like it," she said as she wiped tears from her eyes. Vaughn looked away uncomfortably. "Oh my God, he does say stuff like that to her, doesn't he?"

"No, he doesn't say it to her," he whispered.

It took Laurana a moment to realize what he was saying. "She said it to him?"

He nodded miserably. "And then she grinned, and he smirked, and..and I could tell he liked it. Oh my God! I'm not talking about this!" He waved his hands blindly in front of him as if to dispel the images. She patted his shoulder sympathetically.

"Okay, you aren't anything like your dad." She gave him an evil grin. "So, seeing as the kids are asleep, how about we both get our pretty little asses into something more revealing, preferably nothing at all?"

For some reason, that didn't bother Vaughn, and they both ran into their bedroom, stifling their giggles as they took care not to wake their children.
