Romantic Sim Poses

I have something along the lines of 17 Pose Boxes in my downloads folder. This is not including the animation boxes and paintings that force your sim to do game animations on command because then the count would be around 30. I've been making use of some of them in the past few updates, but when I'm staging a scene I run into problems: If I have 17 Pose Boxes and each have an average of 10 poses per box, then I'm looking at 170+ poses. I could never remember which pose came from where and I would spent an awful lot of time running through them to find the one that I needed. So, I made a Sim Pose Box Catalog for my own use, where I took pictures and labled all of them so when I'm planning scenes in the future, I can look at it and write down the Pose Box and Pose Number. I did this with only the pose boxes and I came out with 200+ pictures *egads* That's not even touching the game animations themselves, because otherwise the project would have taken much longer than it did.

Anyway, I have so many boxes because some of the scenes I have planned out in the future needs some of the poses to be more realistic when it comes to couples. I don't mean in the icky, "I have anatomically correct sims and now my story is going to be pornographic", good heavens no. I just mean more natural looking than the actual game gives me. Besides, Eden's going to be on a lot of magazine covers, so I also needed pictures where it looks like she's posing for the camera.

So, under the cut are 20 poses that I liked the best when it came to couple interactions. Zane and Tina are my models because, well because Zane was already in the AGS neighborhood for his BC Challenge banner and a Birthday card I made (In fact, these are all on the same set), so it was easiest to just plop in Tina. I didn't make them look story quality, so the purple trays are still around, they might not mesh up exactly, and their faces are rather expressionless and dead inside, but they are still some nice poses (Pay no attention to my notes on the pictures).

I'm not sure if I'll ever use this pose. It has a lot of potential and I do have a scene in mind where something like this might be needed, but it might be a bit too dramatic.

This one I will definitely be using in the next chapter or two of the main story. Zane's head is a bit low, but I can move him up and not show the legs. This pose along with the next one will make for a rather touching moment.

This is the other pose. Again, cut out the bottom part where they are on the bed and set the scene elsewhere and it'll turn out pretty. Of course, I rather like the part with the bed, so I'll probably use this pose more than once.

This is another one that I'm not sure that I'll ever use. I might use it for Eden on movie posters or something like that; turn their faces towards each other and set some actual facial expression and *bam* instant romance movie poster.

When I saw this pose, an immediate scene played out in my head involving Adult age Karen. The hands touching is what sold it for me. In fact, when I first got this box a few months back I had taken a few pictures and Karen and her eventual husband where the models for this pose originally, along with the prop I intend on using for the scene. It was lovely and I can't wait to shoot it for real amongst a better setting than a billion colorful boxes and purple shelves :)

I used this for a Birthday card recently and I might use it for more magazine photos for Eden. This one just screams, "the candid life of Eden Devereaux Pages 5-10!"

I like this one, but it's another one that I'm not sure if I'll ever use. Maybe for another picture of "Eden's Candid Pictures at Home!" sort of thing.

I *heart* the face touching with these, and close up as well as far away they look good. These have Eden and her husband written all over it.

I have the conversation already planned out between the two people who will be in this pose.

The mandatroy height difference needed between the two sims bothers me with this pose. But, I was thinking that maybe if I had the male sim doing something that was higher on the set (maybe even a small hill) to explain the height difference, I could use this. *shrug* I still like this as a casual, everyday type of kiss.

This is essentailly the same pose, but the one on the couch has Zane's arm in a more natural looking position. This is another pose that made me plan out a scene specifically so I could use it.

I have quite a few Piggyback poses on a couple different boxes, but this one meshed up the best with the least amount of resistance. This one has "tabloid picture of Eden" written on this one.

This will be used, at least once, for Eden and her husband for a Red Carpet type of picture. Imagine formal wear and bright smiles for the camera; pay no attention to the souless faces that Zane and Tina have. Though, I do kind of laugh at this. Give Zane a pitchfork and this turns into something like this:

Angle this properly and actually mesh them up with more care than I did in this photo and this turns into another nice private moment between two sims. I have vague plans for this pose, actually. I'll have to see if it'll fit with what I'm doing for the scene I have in mind waaaaayyy down the road.

Those vague plans might end up using this picture instead, though. I'll have to see.

*sigh* I like this, but it borders on too sexual for my simming taste, even if the sims are fully clothed. On the other hand, face touching combined with actual facial expression (zoomed in to focus on only their upper bodies) make this into a nice romantic picture. Then again, I *do* have plans for Karen, and it involves her pushing the lines just a little bit, so I *might* show this full pose at some point. *Maybe*

And finally there is this pose. I *like* this pose, but no matter what I do I can't get Zane's arm to actually touch the arm of the couch (I even tried using different couches and chairs to no avail) and I also can't get Tina's elbow to rest properly on Zane's leg. *sigh* From far away they look meshed up, but up close, they look like this. Ah well.

So that's pretty much it. It took a while to get everything sorted out and labled but it'll help me out tons later when I'm actually shooting all those future scenes I have planned. I'll probably crack down and get to writing tonight so I can actually have the chance to use some of the pose boxes for future updates :)
