So I've been busy. Okay, not busy, but more lazy. Well, lazy regarding the Sims.
Not so lazy when it comes to Guild Wars 2 (Level 80 is the level cap of the game).
I even fought the big bad guy at the end of the game and got a cool cut scene where I do the "Here are the heroes of the world and their slow motion walk!"
(Keith also got a cut scene with his character because he also helped out with the big bad-along with three other people. The other people in the picture are the NPC's that are involved with the story line). I didn't realize how small my character model was until I saw this, lol.
ANYWAY. Today I got it in my head to load up my game. Holy shit, right?
I had mentioned in one of my last posts that I am having problems with my game. The Free Time Dance Career Reward was missing. So I uninstalled and reinstalled Freetime.
That was completely pointless because it didn't work. BUT I found out why: I had downloaded a buyable version of that career reward. *smacks forehead* I'll never get those two hours back.
But there are other problems.
(Please note that Rhys' action queue has Myshuno in it because he's obsessed with the game.)
I've mentioned this before, but Rhys has a memory of kissing himself which appeared when he had kissed his hand mirror after primping. This showed up a loooooong time ago, right after I had done a rebuild. I still laugh at the memory because it's so very Rhys, and this was about two years ago and everything was still going fine.
THIS showed up sometime last year when I was last playing my game for realzies and not for staging. Eden gave Erin a Family Kiss...and then she got a memory of cheating on Rhys with Erin :/ Their relationships are all still hooked up properly, so I have no idea what happened there.
But then...
BUT THEN THIS JUST SHOWED UP:
Yes. That is a bright, shiny Life Time Want on Simon the toddler >.<
Rhys: Really, Simon? Did you really need to gain a Life Time Want?
Simon: Foe-Huck
Rhys: Did...did you just say what I thought you did?
Simon: Foehuck!
Rhys: Fauxhawk is your first word? All is forgiven.
(Rhys is the only Sim in the house who is aware that there is a small child present. Everyone else is just plain terrible.)
I was half hoping that I would be able to avoid doing a rebuild, but now it's inevitable. I'm not terribly worried about it, to be honest. I backed up an empty version of New Pleasantview when I did my last rebuild, so all I have to do is update the houses, add the townies, and reinsert the Devereaux characters. That's like a couple hours of my time, tops. But still. Blah.
However, I can still get about two chapters out the the 'hood before I need to rebuild.
With that in mind, there are some minor changes:
Rhys and Eden got some slight makeovers. Rhys is about 50 and Eden is about 47. Their clothes were a bit young for them. Besides, Eden looks awesome in blue.
I am always wishing that there was a "middle aged" life period for the Sims. It's always bothered me that, according the Maxis, Sims would be stopped over with white hair, one foot in the grave by the time their children go to college. That's so totally not true. Rhys and Eden (along with pretty much every adult Sim) had their kids right after Eden graduated college, which put Eden at 22. They both would have been in their early to mid-forties when Erin and Quinn went to college. I don't know about you guys, but I'm staring down the barrel of 40 and I am not stooped over with a full head of white hair (we won't get into the fact that I DO have SOME white hairs. SOME. Like a dozen.).
Rhys and Eden won't be elders until Simon is a child and they both have 8 days left until elder. Rhys, in my canon, is 3 years older than Eden, but that will reflect more when he's an elder (and it's likely that their birthdays won't be shown in any chapter with how I do time skips). My point is that Rhys and Eden (and everyone else from Generation 5) look the same age as their kids who just came home from college. I cringed inwardly when I was writing the lines about how Bella was making digs at Eden's age when they both looked 22.
ANYWAY, because
dicreasy is awesome, she gave me her "age line" makeup that she uses. Rhys got some smile lines, eye crinkles, and lines from furrowing his brow. Eden got the same sans eye crinkles because her eye makeup would cover them.
Ideally they would also have some gray or white hairs. I imagine Rhys would have some at his temples. But he's vain enough to yank them out (as he said to Erin a few chapters back) and Eden dyes her hair so I can just handwave over that.
It's a very subtle difference, but it satisfies me.
By the way, Puck would like to say that he has NO wrinkles and that he has 8 Nice points.
Cassandra Goth will be a major character in the upcoming chapters and she is also in her late thirties-early forties. Body-age wise, not character age wise, if that makes any sort of sense. Elixir and all of that would make her over a hundred. Anyway, she got some lines, too, though because of how thin her face is, a lot of facial shadows were unnecessary.
And last, but certainly not least, Zane's clothes will be changing soon. If any of you pay attention to Doc's descriptions of Zane in some of her Myshuno drabbles, or at his clothing description in the last co-write we did, it's mentioned that he's wearing blue jeans. Not a typo. The next part of his story arc will show a lot of changes in Zane, one of which is him finding out that he doesn't HAVE to wear black, even though he's a Reaper Clone Child AND a Grim Reaper. Besides, I was getting tired of his old clothes and blue doesn't wash him out nearly as much as black does.
That's about it. I have to decorate Cassandra's house before I can film in it, so I'll probably work on that today. I should also work on my Myshuno drabbles if I want to claim Myshuno! I only need two more, for plumbbob's sake.
Anyway, that's all for now. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
