No, not one of my Christmas ones - although I do have a couple written. The other day I went searching for prompts in quotes, and found this quote:
"What power has law where only money rules?"
-Gaius Petronius
So thusly do I give you a little drabble on Port Royal:
The richest and wickedest city in the New World. She rolls in that title, rolls in it like a pig. Stinking and wet, gleaming within pearly waves. Smug and fat, spilling over with blooded gold, she draws them to her. The rich and the poor, the wicked and the pious, the fools and the wise - they all come. They all come to wander her muddy streets, where the stench of fish and spice and too many bodies broil together. The hot sun beats down, and everything is overlaid by a distinct metallic tang. Blood and money smell the same.
