Cage again

Ar locked me in the cage again last night. She put me in a little later, around 11 pm, and let me out early at 5 am so we could lay together for a while this morning, which felt oh-so-nice. Rather than write a lengthy narrative like I usually do, I'm going to save time this morning and just post some pics of this cage from a few pet supply websites.

But to be honest, I should mention I was a bit naughty last night. Tried to get out of being locked up. We were laying on the couch watching a dvd, and after it was over I asked to watch another, which would have gone late. She declined the request. Then were were laying on the bed together holding each other and she drifted off, probably around 10 pm. I lay still, and she woke and stirred a few times. Eventually, she did wake up well around 11 and said in no uncertain terms it was time for me to be put away.

This morning she told me it was naughty. She'd allowed me to have the little blanket and pillow anyway, but mentioned she wished the rubber cuffs and collar had been sitting on top of the cage, so she could have bound my arms up very tightly before putting me in. Today I'm supposed to dig them out of the toybags and drawers and make sure they're on top of the cage.

She said she doesn't believe in holding on to a thing like this and punishing me later. But she warned I'd be getting those cuffs sometime in the near future. Maybe no more blanket and pillow either.

Of course, it'll all depend on her whim at the time. I'll try to keep you updated.

So, yesterday afternoon I dug around for info about the cage itself. Or in pet owner terms, "crate". Turns out there's at least half a dozen companies that make similar ones. Ours is made by "Precision Pet". It's called the "Great Crate", and I believe the model number is GRC4000. The size is listed at 36" by 23" by 26". They seem to have changed the design sometime in the last few years and many now come with 2 doors. But ours is the older model with just a door on the smallest side.

We also have the larger GRC5000 (42" by 28" by 31"), which is the first one we got a few years ago. We still use it sometimes, but it spends most of its life broken down in storage. The smaller one is always set up and ready for use inside the closet.

These 4 pictures are the small one we use:

Ours is actually black, as in this little, hard-to-see picture. This is the only decent black pic I could find of the older, single-door style.

Here's a much better picture, in what seems to be the more popular chrome color. Those horizontal bars on the side are 6 inches apart. The vertical bars are just a little over one inch apart. So if it weren't for the wood attached to the side, I can stick just fingers and maybe half of my palm out. Of course, I can still do that on the front, except that I always go in head-first and it's really hard to turn around inside that little space, so it's a reach. The ceiling is too low to really sit up.

This animated (cute at first, annoying after a while) image shows how the door latches work.

And finally, here's a picture showing the intended occupant. This probably gives you the best idea of the fairly small size (four 6 inch sections on the side, just like ours).
