Oh the weather outside is frightful

BUT I FIND IT SO DELIGHTFUL!!!! Yeah! Well, maybe not the stinkin freezin cold temps - it seriously has to be down around zero again tonight. But I love love love the snow. So, don't blame it on the rain, no no, blame it on me! I love the snow!

You see, when my husband told me back in Novemberish that Vancouver doesn't really get any snow, I began to sink into something like a bit of a depression. I love snow. I love it! I'm always very happy by the time it goes away, but I love it! Probably simply because I grew up in McCall, Idaho, where we would have FEET of snow all winter long, and we'd play and play and play in it. Cross country skiing, snow-mobiling, building ice sculptures, digging tunnels through the 5-foot-high piles of snow at the edges of parking lots, and jumping from low roofs into the deep soft powdery snow. Yes, it was a wonderful place to live as a kid. And the snow brings back such happy memories of childhood playtimes!

So, as I said, I started to get into a little bit of a funk when I found out we were headed toward RainLand. I'm not a fan of rain. And THEN, suddenly God started DUMPING snow down on the Palouse! And it hasn't gone away! There are piles all over town now, just like when I was a kid! We've taken our kids sledding! It's just beautiful outside! I love it! I also don't mind driving in it - I can handle myself well with a little bit of four wheel drive. So I figure, this is God's "going away" gift to me. A wonderful, white wintery wonderland for my last winter in Pullman.

Seriously, this is THE MOST snow I've ever seen on the Palouse, in my 13 years here! It's awesome. Some would disagree with me.
