stuff i found on Purevolume.com i thought everyone could enjoy
So, for the past few weeks, i've been finding really cool bands on www.purevolume.com which, if you havn't checked out yet, you should. It is definantly by far the best way to find random obscure bands that noone has ever heard of, most of which (if you look in the right categories) are quite decent if not good. I have decided to highlight a few of my favorites so far in all of the major music food groups:
If you are a digger of the indies music (rilo kiley, the shins, bright eyes, radiohead, etc.) you should give http://www.purevolume.com/youthgroup a taste. I suggest Shadow Land as a start up song.
If you like indie with a softer acoustic sound (more mellow) http://www.purevolume.com/afarewelltoarms
If you are a hardcore punker, http://www.purevolume.com/lasttuesday would probably be good.
If you really like to cry and be emolike http://www.purevolume.com/funeralforafriend , or http://www.purevolume.com/andtheniturnedsevenmn , or even http://www.purevolume.com/theawkwardromance would be good for you.
If you like, the cool reggae/punk/surf rock sounds of bands such as 311 and sublime http://www.purevolume.com/bajawalla is good for you!
And finally, if you are super cool and like a mixture of music (rock/electronica/pop) and this would be by far my favorite band on this list : http://www.purevolume.com/apollo13 is for you.
Anyways, i have already told a few of you about these bands, just thought i should get them out there, purevolume is a pretty good site to visit (even though a lot of you guys already know about it), so, enjoy!
