Live Free or Die

The road trip up the eastern seaboard is going well. We've put in some 10 to 12 hour days, but the scenery is worth it. Currently, we're in New Hampshire for the second time. We were in Maine for a good bit of the day yesterday. At my request, we ended up at the harbor eating lobster. Well, let me rephrase: I ate lobster, the potato-eatin' mick just watched in somewhat morbid fascination as I methodically worked my way from claws to tail to that green stuff in the middle. (I didn't eat the green stuff.)

I feel very European today, especially after driving through cities named South Paris, Norway, Poland, and Newry. Got some fantastic shots, but there's no accessible drive for uploads here at the hotel. Guess all my 2.5 fan club members will have to wait. Tomorrow through Sunday shows more promise for technological upgrades. My designated hotel in Boston should have a fairly substantial business center.

My eyes are a bit bloodshot, most likely from early morning alarms, but I'm telling people that it's because I've been on moose duty from the car's passenger seat. So far, the only things we've seen have been birds, one deer (a buck), and a saucy squirrel who waited until the very last possible two seconds to move out of the roadway. My friend, being from Northern Ireland, has a bit of a sensitive heart for those little creatures, so when he saw that I wasn't slowing down too much, he yelled, "Meg! Meg! Peep yer hooter! Peep yer hooter!" I was about to backhand him for merely sounding objectionable when I realized that he was just emphasizing that honking the horn would be a good idea.

I've got to remember that phrase. So far, it's my favorite one of the trip.
