I am sick, and it is for the first time in a while, and it is not making me happy but there we are. I am just glad this didn't happen the entire semester while I was at school..just because it's easier when you've got parents who can force-feed you homeopathic chinese medicines and stuff. One of my least favorite things about having a cold is getting cut off from some of my senses- my ears feel like they're stuffed with cotton wool, and my nose is much the same, so not only can I pretty much not taste anything but I can't hear very well either.

But I am feeling better! And my mom got a whole bunch of lush swag from Taiwan so I used the shower bar today (man I love lush) and while I don't actually feel any particular difference in my hair it was still a cool experience. I can't smell, either, so I can't smell it but whatever I'm sure it smells good. She also got a bath bomb which I SO am going to use once my senses come back.

And so. I wanted to talk about movies because MAN I HAVE SEEN SOME MOVIES since I got back. Well. two.

Anyway. I saw Sherlock Holmes and Princess and the Frog, and those are really the only two movies I want to see. I know there's a fair amount of hype about Avatar but after reading Malinda Lo's critique of it or the critique she alluded to in one of her twitter posts (I can't remember these things) it makes me kind of uncomfortable. Although it sounds like it's real pretty. -conflicted-

BUT. Without any spoilers-

Sherlock Holmes was AWESOME and I LOVED IT and it made me watch about five billion of the old Sherlock Holmes movies (well, Turner Classic Movies also had a Sherlock Holmes marathon on right after I saw it) and I can't wait to buy it and watch all of the dvd extras and whatnot. My dad didn't like it aall that much, I'm assuming because he's a bit of a purist, but I enjoyed it even though he was really Americanized. Also I love RDJ and Jude Law, Robert especially can do no wrong in my eyes. It's those damn eyelashes of his, I think. The actual mystery was kind of cool but at the same time kind of eh and I kept thinking of things that totally could have gone wrong....so clearly the bad guy is just totally lucky. In a way. They didn't OMG OVERDO it on the CG though, which was good, and I liked the interesting Martial Arts in the scenes... (although if Holmes was originally a boxer, I think his fighting style would have been slightly different). OKAY DONE RAMBLING.

As for Princess and the Frog.... IT WAS AWESOME. I really loved it, I loved all the characters (Ray was over and all my complete favourite character, and quite possibly my favourite character ever I dunno it's hard to decide these things) and it was DISNEY and 2-D and PRINCESS and AAAH. So good.

Yeah no that's really all I have to say.

movie, sick
