Wow, my brain hurts.
Today was Pi day, and the day of the one-act play on substance abuse (I wonder if I'm the only person who was actually vaguely excited for it? Yes, yes, probably, I am weird, I know.) I'm glad it exceeded everyone's expectations, however, I know I enjoyed it because there were actually quite a few funny bits. I also got told randomly by Breanna that someone out there thought I was, you know, actually kind of cool, but didn't want to say so (which is like me with every person I've ever thought was in any way awesome EVER, so... yes.), so I was nudged into writing a letter which was made pretty useless by the fact that Emily simply told me it was her friend Rachel, so that's that sorted and an awkward conversation out of the way and maybe we can actually start talking.
Um. That letter is going to be pretty embarrassing, I'm just gonna put that out there right now.
My correspondences are always strange...
ANYWAY.
Got home, Dad was like "blah blah was gonna go to Beethoven tonight but decided not to, anyway, thinking about going to see this movie 'The Bank Job' it's got a good review, what do you think about going?" (mind you I'd already agreed to go to the Beethoven thing with him.)
So I looked it up, and I was like "Hey, Stephen Campbell Moore, he's pretty adorable, and the trailer looks light and fluffy and not too bad so I think I'll give it a try."
...I thought it was pretty crap. I'm no judge of cinematography or anything, really, but it seemed a bit like Ocean's Eleven except set in ENGLAND plus SEX and VIOLENCE and GRATUITOUS WOMAN BOOBS. (although the dude who played Reg from Vera Drake was in it; go cockney actors!)
Seriously. I saw more boobs than I really ever need to see. And violence (it didn't help that the volume was WAY UP, so even my half-deaf dad was like OH MAN THE LOUD). I didn't get half of the jokes. And.. did I mention the boobs and violence? oh god I just realized this movie's ideal audience; everything is explained now. sigh.
I mean the premise itself was kinda cool, the whole GOVERNMENT COVERED UP BANK HEIST with COMPROMISING PHOTOS OF PRINCESS MARGARET (who is still alive, my Dad informs me... uhh..that would suck), and OH MAN POLICE CORRUPTION TO THE MAX. but seriously? Blech.
