Spent the afternoon at Eric's, talking geeky stuff and playing a quick one-shot based in a previous campaign world of his. I played a halfling druid, which was a neat combination, and overall it was a fun time. Got home around eleven, after having dinner and ice cream.
Yesterday, I noticed my very first scar from work! Sadly, it's from putting together dog cones. Eheh. But, hey, it's my silly little badge of honor, or something, and it's not too bad as they go. A little thin, but it's just pale and shiny enough that it's visible in good light, and it crosses the back of my left hand at a nice, slight angle. Wootage.
Since Head Of Plot Man asked for it (and I'll e-mail it to him when the maintenance on my account is done),
on Cathál's religion:
Her religion is very loosely defined, and it has less to do with morals and prayer than with respecting a certain way that the world works. It’s something akin to the Chinese concept of the Tao, in that she is aware of a certain balanced cycle that nature keeps to, and although she doesn’t have the best idea of how it all works (or the ability to explain her concept of it), she has trust in “the Way” that the world, time, and events all flow. She doesn’t have much faith in the gods (and possibly even less in the dragons), since all she’s seen of the gods have been cults and deals gone wrong. In order to place trust in them, she’d have to see their good works - that is, work of the gods themselves, not of the people who represent them - in action. So, her “religion” is mostly a good level of respect for the natural world and its cycles, a disinclination to disrupt those cycles, and an acceptance of her very small place in the very large scheme of the Tao. If she had to pick one deity, the one most likely to earn her respect would be Thorin the forest lord, because out of any deific aspects, nature is the one she feels most akin to and has the most respect for.
With that... I'm gonna get something cool to drink, because it's still absurdly warm, despite being twelve thirty in the morning...
