Gaming Store

Where should I go to acquire all my D&D, (dice, campaign books, battle grid, figurines) and other such pen and paper roleplay, gear? I'm at 18th and Park, so the closer there, the better, but I'll go just about anywhere for a great shop. It must be accessible by PT though, since I'm car-free. Thanks folks!

I don't know where 18th & Park is, but I like Bridgetown Hobbies & Games on NE 33rd & Sandy :)

Well, I'm only a Level 3 Dork according to my much-dorkier housemates, so Bridgetown is sufficient for me for now. ;) But I'll check out GG sometime!

If you're Level 3, am I an Epic Level Dork? ;P

Second the seconded motion. It's a slight walk from PT, but nothing major. Could you give us a little more idea of where you are? The only "Park" I know if is SW Park downtown, and it doesn't cross the numbered streets.

Since you're talking public transit and downtown, yes to Guardian Games.

I have special places in my heart for other gaming stores in the area (each one seems to have one thing they are REALLY good at) but I can't think of any that would be easier to get to.

I'd love to hear more about the other places and what you think they're really good at. While I'm car-free, it never hurts to get familiar with the gaming stores. ;)

5th Wall Gaming and LARPs at GG lance_lake December 30 2008, 22:38:39 UTC
Sorry for the extra post. I'm not sure if everyone gets the post if I don't put it here. So I will post it again. Hope that is ok.

=============================
It also has LARPs every first sunday of the month by 5th Wall Gaming (http://www.5thWallGaming.com) from noon to 8pm. :)

Just figured I'd toss that in there. :)

As an additional note, I found GG to be VERY friendly and helpful. They are a place you can just hang out and game. It's pretty darn cool. :)

I haven't been to Guardian Games for over a year, since before their move to the current location. I haven't set foot in Bridgetown for just as long. But I was really impressed with Guardian's new-business-super-enthusiasm vibe. Glad to hear from the comments that it's continued.

I have to say that Bridgetown seems like one of those places that would do very well if they were the only shop in town. But then Guardian came along. If it's just dice and basic supplies, either might do you fine--it's just a location convenience thing. For more in-depth stuff I'd nth Guardian, as Bridgetown seems to drift more toward the general hobby shop when it comes to selection and focus (lots of models and paints, less other stuff). I can't speak in an informed fashion toward any sexism subjects given my gender POV.
