Saturday morning

Oh my, I am at it again. Started another shawl this time with the lime Glaciar Del Cielo from Aslan Trends.

This is the start of the shawl, knit while waiting during the errand run.

And by the end of the evening

I really hate the use of a crocheted chain to create a tab to begin so I have devise another way of doing the same thing. I will photographically illustrate the process one of these days.

We’ve had the same bedroom curtains for over 10 years. Thus, when I saw this Faye Burgos quilt backing on sale (it's 108” wide) I went for it. The box arrived yesterday as we were going out the door. There is also some coordinating ticking to go with it that looks pink in the picture but is actually red. All of this for less than you would pay for one pre-made panel in the stores. Now I just have to find some lining at a good price and I can sit down and sew them up.

When I told Dearest what was in the box he started to grumble about liking the old curtains. Well, I am not throwing them out. They will remain the winter curtains. These will just be the Spring/Summer and early Fall curtains. :)

Hum, that’s a thought. I wonder if I have the yardage someplace in the stash make my own quilted lining that could work for both sets of curtains? I am going to have to investigate this.

It is a grey day outside this morning and the road is closed to traffic. Wonder what they are up to now? Apparently, we are due a large amount of rain tomorrow.

I am off to download my weekly podcasts and then get into trouble around the house. Have a wonderful Saturday.
