I am ridiculously bad at meeting people and horrendously monofocused in social situations, and I hope I didn't appear rude. I was terribly out of sorts. HOMG, that whole day was so rough on my squick factor. *facepalm*

it was a summer job when I did my baccalaureate in Microbiology.. I was working for a group who studied the ecology of the mouth (to make advances among other things in cavity control and such). My objective was do determine if the bacterial flora of mice changed througout the day, so every couple of hours I'd grab my mice by the skin of their neck, twirl their tail around my pinkie so they were all stretched out and swab their mouths with a special q-tip. Didn't hurt them, was over in a couple of seconds. then I'd analyze what was on the swab and such.
turns out there IS a circadian cycle to the bucal flora of the Balb/c mouse, so if you do studies on them for whatever reason? always take your samples at the same time of the day not to have a bias in your results ;)
not that thrilling, I know. but still. it a cool summer job, as lab work goes ;)
