The week from hell has given me a pretty hefty blow. Here's a rundown: Getting a cold and embarassing myself in front of my management class by running so slow I'd typically lap myself 2-3 times, getting mired in work only to get a ridiculous migraine over the weekend which affected me for 2 days and required imitrex, and finally the washer crapping out to the tun of 100 gallons of water on the floor.
So I went into today weak, tired, beaten, and still migraine-shaky. I have 2 major projects to either finish or get most of done (respectively, the second of which the professor literally assigned last thursday night via a comment on blackboard?!) by wednesday. My response?
Weighted vest wind sprints...because 1)Kelly's away message said to run and 2)I hadn't in a while and seemed I finally could. I then proceeded to finish the accounting project within an hour (pretty good considering the amount of material and changes), and am now waiting for melatonin to kick in so I can sleep and try some heroics at work and get my project done before I even leave the campus.
Yes, working in overdrive while sick possible led to that migraine, but I made a choice to use my "procrastination work speed" at all times, not just the night before. Thus far the results have been spectacular, but the semester isn't over yet. Come migraines, minor muscle injuries, sickness, embarassment, or work overload, I have no intention of blowing it now. But I also have no intention of turning in some slopshod work by doing it the last minute. I'm a day away from being more than caught up, and I'm ready to prove it.
The carpet really is hell though. I'm going to be in mold hell within 2-3 days...how fast can I get the place tiled?!
