When I saw this story, my first thought was of xkcd. "Well, there's another 'died in a ____ accident' statistic."

This is, of course, in reference to the latest xkcd (which I'm sure everyone has seen by now).

Currently, "died in an escalator accident" gives you 3 results on Google. We can probably expect that number to go up now.
