Geek heaven
Funny how talking about computers with a bunch of geeks and doing something with computers in a group is totally different. Things seem to be more competitive. Anyway, silly as it may seem, the last time I was in such an environment I was back in Cegep.
I'm still tripping over the incredible differences involved with my work environment. Multicultural, multigeek, this was a much needed change in my life and just like my weight, I had never realized until now just how much I was damaging myself. At the same time I feel like parts of things I had to endure have made me much stronger for the challenges that await me.
Yesterday our formation agent took a bit of time on the side to show us some dirty dirty jokes to do on someone else's computer. Nothing fancy, just creatively evil:
Create a shortcut, change the icon/rename to Internet Explorer, enter this command:
Shutdown -s -t 60 -c "COMPUTER IS SHUTTING DOWN IN 1 MINUTE. OMG WHAT HAVE YOU DONE???".
Good times.
We where then called "script kiddies" because we enjoyed it so much. I'm told I should expect many pranks of this type as well! Every day I get to re-learn stuff about what is supposably my field and I'm enjoying every second of it.
Woke up with a very bad indigestion. I can only pray it will go away soon. Shooting session this evening at the Juste Pour Rire cabaret. I better be in shape by then.
