lights
I put up Christmas lights today; two Merry Christmases and a Santa Train that "puffs smoke" and turns the wheels as the lights flash in sequence. I still have some to add tomorrow. I'm going to tag along with Penny on her flight to DC on the 9th. It's a short (15 hr.) layover, but I'll have time to wander around and take some pictures. There's also a little bbq rib joint just down the street from the hotel that sells jars of the best BBQ sauce I've ever tasted. Maybe I'll pick up a couple of pints. It'll be interesting to see if the mood of the city seems any different now that Obama is going to be taking office. It seemed a somber place the last time I was there, but maybe that was just me. When we get back we're going to have the grandkids for a week while Natalie and Justin go to Hawaii for his brother's graduation. It will be fun to have the kids for more than just one night. The Christmas lights are mostly for them. We're not having company this year.
